Making tubingI offer basic, intermediate and advanced level demonstrations and workshops in various jewelry fabrication topics.

Demonstrations and Workshops take place in my studio at the Shore Institute for the Contemporary Arts. The address is 20 Third Avenue,Suite 202B, Long Branch NJ, 07740

The demonstrations are "lecture style" providing detailed presentations of  techniques needed to complete a project. Students get "eyes on" but  not  "hands on" experience. Students need not bring tools or materials to demonstrations - just sharp minds, sharp pencils or cameras, or whatever other items that will help them remember what they see and hear.

The workshops are where "hands meet tools and metal", I personally assist each student in completing a jewelry project, based upon the techniques learned during a previous demonstration.

A student may enroll in either a demonstration or a workshop or both. The material presented in the demonstrations will not be presented again during workshops, but will be reviewed as needed.

The cost is $10 per hour per student + tools and materials. I stock a limited amount of tools and materials as a convenience for students, but students are encouraged to purchase their own from vendors to the trade.

Demonstrations may be 1, 2 or 3 hours in length depending on the complexity of the topic. Workshops are generally a minimum of 4 hours,  but can run 8 hours or longer depending on student progress. Workshop participants commit to a 4 hour fee, but may stay at additional cost until they complete a project.

The demonstrations and workshops are oriented toward work in precious metals, primarily Sterling Silver. In some cases, the techniques can be executed in base metals such as copper and brass.  In others, only pure Gold or Silver will do.

Class sizes are limited to 4 students per session.
